5 Ways to Balance Root Chakra
In my last video “Signs of a Blocked Root Chakra,” I have covered some of the physical ailments, psychological and emotional issues that’s linked to a weak root chakra. If you haven’t seen it; there’s a link in the video description.
In this video we are going to discuss ways to balance a Root Chakra:
Chakra is spinning energy centers in our body that corresponds to our nerve centers. Each chakra has it own energy and frequency that is linked to the organs in its proximity; therefore influencing the health of the organs as well as on a psychological level.
These chakras pull their energy from our environment and distribute that energy to your body. This energy center stores our stories, wounds, past experiences, and pattern throughout our body that directed tied to childhood conditioning, past experiences as well as inherited energy.
For example, the root chakra stores our stories pertaining to survival and sexuality. It’s located at the base of the spine and its energy spin around the sex organs (penis in men and vagina in a woman). It’s energy influence not only the upper body by opening the upper chakras carrying the life force, down the legs, providing support (financial support and Earth’s energy support.) This is where we get the term “grounded”.
Open and balanced root chakra enables you to feel safe and secure within yourself, your life and the world around you. We are comfortable with our sexuality and we are grounded in the Earth’s energy. When we connect with other people we make them feel physically secure. People may say “I feel safe with you or around you.” When the root chakra is blocked; people will sense you as a threat, aggression or hostility. Balancing the impaired energy can help restore organs and help physical symptoms.
Healing the Root Chakra with Dance – Dancing can balance the root chakra by the movement of the pelvis area. This can be free form, such as African dance. Dancing will directs the energy to go up and out. Upward to travel and fuels the other 6 chakra and outward to connect with the environment and people.
- Donna Eden Author of Energy Medicine said “to dance from your root chakra is to dance with the Earth.”
- Dancing also makes you feel sexier or gives off a sexual energy. I’m not saying in an animalistic way but in a divine way.
Healing the Root Chakra with Exercises –
- For women, you can practice Kegel exercise. Tighten your pelvic floor muscles. Hold tight and count to 8. Relax the muscles and count to 10. Repeat 10 times, 3 times a day (morning, afternoon, and night).
- For men, you can engage in sports, martial arts, walking, yoga, Taichi.
Healing the Root Chakra with Nature – since the Root Chakra element is Earth. Getting out in nature has a positive effect on the root chakra.
- Place your bare feet on grass or sitting on the grass
- Hug a tree and place your back against a tree or take care of plants
- Gardening
Allows you to absorb the earth energies. Also experiencing the sounds and smell of your environment. Share my experience with hugging a tree.
Healing the Root Chakra with Meditation – energy flows where attention goes. Sit in a comfortable position. Touch the tip of your thumb with the tip of your index finger. While focusing on the first chakra area you chant the sound Lam (pronounced “lum” and you also visual the color red.)
Healing the Root Chakra with Reflex Foot Massage – Did you know your foot has minor chakras? Also, all six energy meridian that goes through the feet release energy through the toes, liver, kidney, bladder, and stomach. The root chakra governs the base of the spine, legs, and feet. And since our feet is used for grounding and support, receiving a foot massage or reflexology massage can release stagnant energy.
